🔍 शब्दार्थ
हे देवी! तू (गृहाणाम्) घरों, गृहस्थों, घर के लोगों की

(सुमङ्गली) कल्याणकारिणी
English: One who brings welfare, prosperity, and auspiciousness.
(प्रतरणी) तारनेवाली, पार ले जानेवाली नौका के समान

तू (पत्ये) पति के लिए (सुशेवा) सुसेवाकारिणी बन
English: Be devoted and caring towards your husband.
(श्वसुराय) श्वसुर के लिए (शंभूः) शान्तिदायक और कल्याणदात्री हो
English: Bring peace and well-being to your father-in-law.
(श्वव) सास के लिए (स्योना) सुख देनेवाली होकर
English: Be a source of happiness for your mother-in-law.
(इमान् गृहान्) इन घरों, इन गृहस्थों में

🌼 भावार्थ
घर में प्रवेश करनेवाली नववधुओं में क्या-क्या गुण और विशेषताएं होनी चाहिए, वेद ने बहुत थोड़े-से परन्तु अत्यन्त सारगर्भित और मार्मिक शब्दों में वर्णन कर दिया है।
English: The Vedas briefly yet profoundly describe the ideal qualities a newly married woman should possess when entering her new home.
१. नववधुओं को पारिवारिक जनों को दुःखों से तारनेवाली होना चाहिए।
English: A new bride should help her family overcome difficulties and hardships.
२. पति की सेवा और सुश्रूषा करके उसे सदा प्रसन्न रखना चाहिए।
English: She should care for her husband and keep him happy through service and affection.
३. श्वसुर के लिए शान्ति और कल्याणदात्री होना चाहिए।
English: She should bring peace and well-being to her father-in-law.
४. सास के लिए सुख देनेवाली होना चाहिए।
English: She should be a source of happiness for her mother-in-law.
५. इन चार गुणों से युक्त होकर ही वधुओं को पति-गृह में प्रवेश करना चाहिए।
English: Only with these qualities should a bride enter her husband’s home.
जिन घरों में ऐसी सुशीला नारियाँ होती हैं वे घर स्वर्ग बन जाते हैं, वहाँ दुःख और कष्ट नहीं होते। सभी व्यक्ति प्रसन्न और हर्षित रहते हैं।
English: Homes blessed with such virtuous women become like heaven, free from sorrow, where everyone lives happily.
